Dr. Bill Tortoriello
Dr. Bill Tortoriello was born and raised in Chicago. In 2002, he received an Honors Degree in Biology from Loyola University of Chicago, and following graduation, began his Chiropractic education at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Lombard, Illinois. Throughout his years at NUHS, Dr. Bill not only excelled in the required coursework, but also completed multiple extracurricular courses with an emphasis in Physical Therapy, Clinical Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation.
In the summer of 2006, Dr. Bill graduated from NUHS, earning the degree, Doctor of Chiropractic. Soon after, Dr. Bill opened his own private practice, Integrative Chiropractic, which he still operates in Chicago when he is not also treating patients at The Natural Health Improvement Center in Alsip.
Since graduating, Dr. Bill has been continually learning and has dedicated his professional life to finding the most effective, natural ways to alleviate pain and restore function through conservative methods to treat both adults and children.
In 2007, Dr. Bill attended his first course in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), a principled approach to physical medicine and rehabilitation that now serves as the basis for his treatment, and in 2014, after completing hundreds of hours of continuing education, including a final 6-day rotation in the Physical Medicine Department of Motol Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic, Dr. Bill became a Certified DNS Practitioner. Furthermore, due to additional, separate coursework over the years, Dr. Bill was also certified as a DNS Pediatric Practitioner, which enables him to perform a unique physical exam and assessment on infants and children, as well as provide conservative treatment if necessary. This expertise can serve as a useful, effective adjunct to the care already provided by pediatricians. In 2019, due to his continued education and clinical expertise, Dr. Bill was honored by the Prague School of Rehabilitation to be certified as a formal instructor for DNS, which is a program responsible for educating thousands of healthcare practitioners annually around the world.
In addition to his DNS experience, Dr. Bill has also completed certifications in Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT), Clinical Neurodynamics, Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ), and Corrective Exercise.
With his years of clinical experience and knowledge, in addition to mechanical spine care, Dr. Bill excels at treating all types of orthopedic conditions of the musculoskeletal system, including but not limited to:
- Hip Impingement
- Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Knee Meniscal Tears
- Tennis Elbow
Finally, due to the holistic nature of his approach, Dr. Bill spends a bit more personal time with each patient, therefore a typical patient visit lasts approximately thirty minutes where the entire encounter and treatment is administered by him personally…no assistants or passive modalities are used. Dr. Bill believes that this is not only necessary but essential in order to adequately assess and effectively treat his patients as well as build a quality relationship which fosters both trust and education.
Please consider Dr. Bill Tortoriello as a referral source for all your patients, including infants and children.
